Sterling & Fine Silver Jewelry

The jewelry in this gallery features pieces made primarily of fine and sterling silver. Many pieces are worked using traditional metalsmithing techniques: forming, etching, soldering, rivets and various other cold connections.

I try to work as 'Green' as possible--that is, minimizing waste, using natural materials and minimizing the use of chemicals and solvents. Keeping my studio 'low-tech' has had two benefits, it keeps my studio environmentally 'friendlier' and contributes to the organic quality of the designs.

Many of pieces include components made of precious metal clay. Precious metal clay (PMC) is a compound of fine silver with organic binders. The clay is worked like a ceramic and fired. After firing, the resulting piece is 99.9% pure, fine silver. PMC offers a sculptural/ organic element to my silver work that is difficult to obtain with traditional metal working techniques.
